Michael Ivey, 48, of Taylor, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Magnolia Regional Medical Center in Magnolia.
He was born on September 27, 1966 in Ukiah, California. He was a carpenter for Collier Builders and Roger Sweet Builders, but his most important accomplishment was being a husband and especially a father to his children. He was a member of Greer’s Chapel United Methodist Church, a supporter of Ozark Mission Project, and was an amazing Christian who was steadfast in his faith and strength during his courageous battle with cancer.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Laura Catherine (Pollard) Finnochio; and grandparents, Jesse Thomas Ivey and Julia Boyt Ivey.
Mike is survived by his wife, Suzanne Emerson Ivey; his children, Kelsey Maloch, Mason Maloch and fiancé Kaitlyn Terrell, and Alexx Ivey, all of Taylor, Arkansas; mother-in-law, Kay Emerson of Taylor; father-in-law, Bobby and Karen Emerson of Taylor; his father, Randy and Millie Ivey of Clear Lake, California; and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Greer’s Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Lasater officiating. Burial will follow at Sharman Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc,. in Magnolia.
Visitation with the family will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Ozark Mission Project at ozarkmissionproject.org
Pallbearers will be Aaron Lasater, Charles Matheny Randy Rouse, Doug Collier, Mike Simmons, Scott Slack, and Shaun Dodson, and David Brazzel.
